It’s not often that I post about pop culture, but I couldn’t resist sharing this song and music video: D.A.N.C.E by the French electronic band Justice. A few months ago, a friend of mine begged me to listen to it on her ipod, then I heard it playing in a store, and now I can’t seem to get enough of it. The song lyrics reference many of Michael Jackson’s classics, such as PYT (Pretty Young Thing), Black or White, his “Music and Me” album, and ABC by The Jackson 5. And one line from the chorus – “the way you move is a mystery” – could certainly refer to Jackson himself. I think the song is catchy, and the pop art style video is creative and original. Watch the two people’s shirts closely to see all of the changing images and references to pop culture. And then watch the video again, and again…and again.
