I really regret missing this…unexpectedly I had to make a fast trip to New Haven on the day I’d planned to attend. Thanks for the excellent write-up and photos…I hope I get another chance to see it.

Hi Deborah,

Like Naharin, Miller uses a range of music, and her choreography is startlingly “in your face” and honest, which reminds me of Batsheva’s “Telophaza” and “Three”. The dancers of Gallim certainly broke down the fourth wall and weren’t afraid of looking the audience in the eye. And their movement was so sensual and self-aware that it certainly stemmed from Miller’s experience with Gaga.

This piece followed Naharin’s format for “Decadance”, with a compilation of excerpts from a variety of pieces. It was seamless and really enjoyable, but felt a little too similar to Naharin’s work.
