In all, Evan Lysacek skated a very clean long program and skated to win, while you could even see Plushenko struggling to land his jumps in the long program.

It’s such different questions – to ask what the audience wants to see, and to judge figure skating as an Olympic sport.

Still, I do fear that now men will be trying to be safe rather than be risky. I like risk – it adds to the thrill, and I’d like to see more people attempt quads and land them. After all, isn’t the Olympics about pushing yourself to the extreme?
